iPhone Not Too Behavior in India

iPhone Not Too Behavior in India - Not only Apple's cell phone sold in the market. Apparently in India, iPhone cell phone is not so popular. In fact, in the country there are 602 million active mobile phone users.

Gus Papageorgiou, telecommunications analyst at Scotia Capital Inc. in Toronto, explains that the infrastructure of telecommunications technology in India has not been sufficient to run existing applications on the iPhone. Telecommunications networks is not enough that the iPhone 2G running optimally in India. Meanwhile, the 3G technology is still new in India.

According to research firm IDC in Massachusetts, only send about 62 043 Apple iPhone to India in the quarter, which ended on June 30, 2011. This figure is lower than the iPhone shipments to Norway, Belgium, or Israel.

This condition is a boon for Apple's competitors, namely the Research In Motion Ltd. (RIM) to boost sales of Blackberry in India. "Products that fit the technological infrastructure of telecommunications in India, the right time, and the appropriate application to RIM's advantage to market in India," Papageorgiou said.

RIM and Nokia sells more products than the iPhone in India. Sales of both brands are expected to rise nearly 70 percent per year until 2015. This could be a little fresh air for the company, while sales in the U.S. and Europe become slow due to Apple products that dominate the market.

RIM is becoming more popular in India because these products first entered the Indian market, and functions as well as in accordance with the required network infrastructure in India. "Only a few of my friends who have iPhones. Meanwhile, all have a Blackberry, so there is no reason for me to not have it," said Mahafereenn Sarkari, a dance instructor in Mumbai.
